Vision Newsletter Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church Tribes A congregation management program to enhance the retention of church members at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church Goals and Objectives 1. To promote love between the brethren that flows from heart to heart and breast to breast that we might be on one accord with one another and further enhance the fellowship we have in Jesus Christ. II. To lower the attrition rate of new and old members of the congregation due to non-contact, non-church attendance, etc. (revolving door syndrome). 1V. To divide the full congregation into twelve groups (tribes) to increase interaction and fellowship opportunities among church members. The twelve tribes of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church are taken from Revelations Chapter 7: Versus 5-8. a. Establish a steering committee to develop and launch the program. 1. Canvass congregation and divide into twelve tribes according to birthdays. 2. To set up the leadership structure of the tribe. Chief Elder (Pastor) will choose each tribal elder. The tribal members of each tribe will choose and assign tasks and other leaders within the group. 3. To set up line of communication to relay tribal information to tribal elder and from tribal elder to the chief elder and staff. 4. To develop programs and activities to promote interaction within the tribes and between the tribes. V. To provide a structure for the twelve groups (tribes) to operate within the current system at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church. a. To compile an organizational chart outlining how the tribes interact within the church. VI. To provide opportunities for additional interaction and fellowship among church members within the tribal system. VII. To assist the pastor in being more informed about illnesses, death, and other needs of church members the pastor may not be aware of more expediently. VIII. To foster additional bible study among church members. |
