From the desk of the Pastor

The Reverend Dr., Michael A. Poke, Sr.

                           Seasons Greetings
Christmas is a time of giving and for many of us gift giving more than anything else typifies Christmas. In search of the perfect Christmas gift? Why not share with someone the free gift of salvation "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and also unto the Greek." (Roman 1:16)

When I think about sharing the free gift of salvation, I think about giving, and when I think about giving, I think about God who is the greatest giver of all. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). God's free gift of salvation was just what we needed. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life though Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. We are all guilty, we needed someone to save us from our sins "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) God did for us what we couldn't do for ourselves. The good news is "That if thou shalt confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).

Another way to share the free gift of salvation is A, B, C.

Admit - Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God..."

Believe  - John1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God..."

Confess - Romans 10-9-10 " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved..."

Let us share the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ that surpassed all other gifts.
